Intuition is your inner voice and that place of knowledge without reason that we all have access to. It is the bridge between the conscious and the unconscious, tying together what you know and what you feel to be true. Intuition, when cultivated, holds a strong power that can help you maximize your life. Let’s dive into learning the techniques needed to become more intuitive!
This post is part of a series on Intuition. Check out the other series’ posts here.
My last post discussed what intuition was, and today’s post will be dedicated to how you can become more intuitive.
Growing your intuition can benefit all areas of your life, including:
- Professional Development: There are many people who speak about getting ahead in their careers thanks to following a hunch or feeling that could make the sale or grow the company.
- Interpersonal Relationships: Trusting your intuition can help you to open up more with others, and better understand where they are coming from.
- Eating and Diet: When we listen, our body tells us what is good for it and what is not. Intuitive eating focuses on building healthy habits for fueling your body with what is best for it.
- Personal Development: Self-care and self-love all starts with listening to ourselves.
- Spiritual Growth: Being intuitive allows you to open yourself up and connect with the world that surrounds you on deeper levels than your five senses alone can access.
Becoming Intuitive
You can easily grow your intuition by incorporating these healthy practices and techniques into your life starting today. These are practices that I use for strengthening my intuition, and I hope they can be useful for you as well!
Practice Mindfulness
Mindfulness is all about living in the moment. Bring your attention to yourself and your surroundings in the Now. Observe your actions and interactions with all around you. Let go of worries from the past, or anxieties of what’s to come. By focusing on the present moment you will begin to sync your thoughts with your actions and build a better relationship with yourself. Listen to your own body, and begin to recognize what it’s telling you.

Learn New Things
Part of becoming more intuitive is expanding your knowledge. Our reality is made up of things we experience and learn throughout our life. In order to make changes in our life and incorporate new practices, you need to research and learn more about what you are interested in. Intuition is present to guide you in making decisions, but in order for it to do so you need to compile the choices. Think of it like building a block fort with a friend. It doesn’t matter how good your friend is at building if you don’t have any blocks to work with. Find the blocks to work with, and your intuition will help you build.
Take Time to be Alone & Meditate
Give yourself quiet time to allow yourself to find your inner voice. If you’re constantly moving, doing, and observing other things you’re filling your time with distractions. Your inner voice will not fight for the spotlight, you must choose to give it time and attention in order for it to become louder. Practice listening to yourself in order to identify the difference between regular and intuitive thoughts. Over time you will be able to recognize the difference and pay attention when your intuition speaks up.
Let Go of Negativity
Intuition comes from a peaceful state of mind, so negativity has no role to play in growing it. You’ve probably noticed that when you are in a negative mindset, it consumes everything you do. You can’t stop thinking about what’s wrong, it begins to spiral and become worse than it originally was, and everything you do will continue to fuel it until you choose to let it go. Choose to focus on what you want in your life, rather than what you don’t. It is when you focus on living your life that intuition will come to guide you.

Nurture Your Creative Side
Whether it is baking a new dish for dinner or doodling along the edge of a notebook, creation helps to stimulate your intuitive side. Being creative helps you to think outside of the normal boundaries of thinking and opens you up to new ways of thought. This flexibility in thinking helps you to build a healthy foundation in your brain to nurture and grow your intuition.
By incorporating these practices into a routine you will find that inner voice getting stronger and louder. Intuition comes from a place separate from our physical selves, and for it to manifest we need to maintain a healthy mindset and lifestyle so it can grow and blossom. Once that has happened, we can reap the benefits.
